Just Want To Celebrate

I have a feeling I missed a dear friend's birthday! (Horrible feeling) In the move I lost my date book with all my birthday's and anniversaries in it. I kept thinking I was going to find it....of course I haven't. So, if I'm early or late for her birthday.....hope she understands.

Mission Project

For the past week our kids have been going to Son Harvest County Fair VBS, they have a mission project called Bags of Love. They are making Bags that include pillows, toothbrushes, journals, stationary, books and many misc. items. These bags are given to children that are taken from their home for numerous reasons. The bags are given in hopes to make things easier and help the child adjusts easier. I decided to commit to making stationary packs with matching pens. My goal is to make about 15 of them, using up some of my scraps of designer paper. I thought I would share my first two packs.....I included 4 envelopes with stamps and 10 sheets of matching stationary.

Been a Little Busy

Things have been a little busy at our house this past week getting ready for Aiden and Adison's 4th birthday party. It ended up being a Spiderman/Princess Party....Aiden and Adison were so cute and wanted to dress up so everyone could see them in costume when they arrived. In a nutshell we had a wonderful day, (weather was perfect) the smiles were endless! I think the adults had as much fun as the kids.

I have some fun things planned for this week to share, including blog candy....thanks for hanging in with me as my life has been turned upside down! Now I have to make it through two weddings in a row and VBS. I guess that is what summer is all about!

Too Yummy Not to Share!

This week has been beyond anything I can even explain. It has been crazy trying to get our house and yard ready for company on Saturday for Aiden and Adison's 4th birthday party. Plus they have been so focused on riding bike without training wheels, it is all I do every free moment is run behind them on the bike. They so want to keep up with big sister. Adison has mastered the bike, Aiden is doing well but not there yet....he still leans into it and falls over around corners. I have to give them both credit they don't give up and are not scared, what a switch to teaching Ashton. (I think we waited too long with her).

Today Aiden and I had time to ourselves so we decided to suprise my mom and dad with Banana Crumb Muffins, this is a new recipe I found and it has gone right into my favorites! We'll be making them again soon, maybe even tomorrow. So, I dug up an old Stampin Up Recipe Set I had and made a card to go with the muffins....nothing fancy, but it went over really well. I thought I would share the recipe with you.

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 bananas, mashed
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers.
In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle topping over muffins.
Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.

Party Time

Despite the fact that I am suffering from a huge migraine today, I finished up Aiden and Adison's brirthday party invitations. (What we don't do for our children). I knew if I didn't get them in the mail today, we may as well not have a party (It's on Saturday)......things have been a little crazy around here.

Also I am in the works of getting some blog candy together as I'm about ready to hit a huge milestone....15,000 hits. Thank You!

Who Wouldn't Love This

After a long day of trying to gain some sort of momentum (I have to confess I didn't even make it to the gym today), this day in and day out of rain is really effecting my mood, my husband brought me home a huge coffee (just what I needed, although I broke my 3 month spell of no caffeine) and I bolted downstairs to complete my dad's father's day card/gift. My husband then got the kids ready to go on a picnic~ they were gone for a few hours, which was so nice. The kids didn't mind that it was raining out, although Ashton was excited to say the sun came out for a few moments. We are heading into the middle of June and it feels more like winter outside then summer??? I've lost count at how many days it has been raining!!! Anyway, back to the project at hand....I thought this wallet card would be perfect to stash some money in for dad. I think he's going to love it, then again, who would like a card full of money!

Creative Journaling

I'm ashamed to say it took me forever to finish my sister in laws 3rd Journal that she requested. I waited until the night before we saw them to whip it out. She was very happy with them and couldn't wait to begin writing. She must have a lot to say to need three journals at once! I'm just so happy she likes them so much.....I think the rest of the family was jealous, I'm sure I'll be making more! Happy Monday!

My husband brought each of the girls back a crystal necklaces from Europe in these cute little boxes....I of course had to take them apart and make a box of my own out of them. Weekend Happenings

Got a jump start on my wedding cards tonight as we will be inundated with three weddings in a row. June is going to be a busy, crazy month for us. I keep talking about life slowing down, I'm wondering when is that really going to happen. I had a busy weekend with the kids, the weather was nice so I finished planting my garden and getting a couple more shrubs in the ground....I can't wait for my husband to come home. It is hard to get things done around the house and keep track of the kids, can be very stressful at times!!! Ashton did loose her "buck" tooth on Saturday. Her front two teeth have been loose what seems like forever. Well, about three weeks ago one of them decided to move outward, which is where the "buck" tooth saying came from....I was so concerned we took her to the dentist last Tuesday thinking it needed to be pulled. It kept moving more and more outward and seemed to be tightening up, when she smiled with her lips closed it stuck straight out!!! The dentist wouldn't pull it just yet, she wanted Ashton to work a little more on this one. I guess it is normal for a tooth to do that??? I've never seen anything like it before! Well, thanks to my mom, a $50 bribe and 5 days of tugging it finally came out! Yeah! Her new tooth is already on it's way in.....never a dull moment!

Project Supplies: Sweet Treats & Mini Mates (Both Retired SU), Chocolate Chip and Whisper white cardstock, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Swirl Emboss Folder, SU Ribbon, Watercolor Crayons, Blender Pen, Hodgepodge Hardware, Brown Stazon Ink (Retired) and Dimensionals.

P.S. The $50 bribe was for my mom, she didn't want to make Ashton cry. Ashton is all about drama when it comes to any little bit of pain. It was easier to pay her then to listen to it!!!
