A Little Berry Bliss

I've needed some bliss after two days of the kids freaking out around here, I think they are missing "DAD". (I hope that is all it is). I haven't seen anything like it before, my normally well mannered kids have been doing nothing but fighting with one another and doing nothing short of making mom's hair fall out. Tonight they did go to bed without a fight, thank god....I thought I better post a couple cards I made this afternoon while my darling 3 year old twins colored (with marker, stampin' up one's non the less) on the downstairs steps. Our cream carpet has dots and stripes of Creamy Carmel and Close to Coco......beautiful!

Project Supplies: Like it Latte (Retired) Stamp Set, Close to Coco, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White Cardstock, Berry Bliss Designer Paper, Pomegranate Ribbon (Retired), Glitter, Dimensionals, Close to Coco, Pretty in Pink and Purely Pomegranate Ink.

Project Supplies: SU 5 Petal Flower and Boho Blossoms Punch, Berry Bliss Designer Paper, SU Ribbon, Rhinestone, Dimensionals and Mat Pack, Purely Pomegranate, Close to Coco and Pretty in Pink Cardstock.

P.S. I quick made another card, moving the heart onto the cup because it was hard to see the layering on the photo. It is still popped up with dimensionals.

So Proud

Today I was honored to watch my Uncle COL Robert Fode speak at the capital today in honor of our fallen soldiers. My mom, dad and grandma braved the "winter" like weather, sitting outside on the capital lawn. (We froze our butts off, but on a lighter note we did make the nightly news!) Remember to thank our soldiers who fight for our freedom every day!

Tonight I finally finished up my husband's "Father's Day" brag book. I had to keep it simple or it would not have closed with all the layers I added. Next time I make this style of brag book, I'll scrapbook it first! I think it is going to look awesome at his desk at work, I can't wait to give it to him. He is really an amazing husband and father! He is heading overseas tomorrow for a week....we'll sure miss him!!!

Too Funny Not to Share

On Friday my mom and I were out with the twins running errands while Ashton was in school, they didn't get a nap, so by the time we finished up at the library Adison was in rare form. (My mom got to witness how Adison can really get, she never believes me). We had to meet my husband at the furniture store and I knew this was about our last stop for the day, but Adison just kept it up.....As we were getting out of the car to head into the furniture store my mom says laughing. "Adison your dad is going to be here and he'll whip you into shape." Then Aiden replies...."Maybe Dad will whip her into a Triangle." We both split a gut!! It was exactly what we needed to relax and chill out a moment, we finished up our errands and the twins went down for a much needed nap! Moral to the story....have them take a nap before errands!

Mini Photo Album I made for my husband, from the kids. I had problems yesterday getting Wal-mart to print photos for me....so I hope to finish it up today and show you the inside.

Great End To a Busy Week

Sorry this week I haven't posted much, it has been crazy here! After our incidents on Monday, my parents coming home, Ashton's play last night and today's school field trip to the Amusement Park...I'm exhausted. Tonight I made a simple gift for Ashton's teacher, Mrs. Lacher....who I think is the most amazing teacher! Ashton painted the pot, I cheated and bought stickers from Hobby Lobby, since I don't have any school type stamps. The ribbon and plant I purchased from Wal-mart and I just printed the thank you saying off the computer. This is a very simple project and it got my daughter involved, which was an added bonus. Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend....we are suppose to get rain, if we do I'll be stamping!!!

A little something for Mrs. Lacher on the last day of school.

Can't Believe Today Is Finally Here....

My Mom & Dad are finally home!!! The kids were so excited to see them, I never saw so many smiling faces. Words can't even express the way I am feeling right now!!! I would jump up and down, but it hurts to just sit up (from yesterday's incident). On that note, we are all doing pretty well today. Adison is back to her old dare devil self, running around like nothing happened. Me on the other hand, I'm still walking around like an old lady. I can't raise my left arm above my shoulder, ribs REALLY hurt today and my knee is still bothering me. I did manage to make it downstairs to cover a cute little "Lemon head" lunch box I found at the Dollar Tree. Ashton loves lemon drops and I thought this would be a fun little treat for her tomorrow night. She has her kindergarten graduation, plus her class his putting on a play. (I am proud to say she has a lead part, all that drama I see at home is finally going toward something good). I kept my project tonight pretty simple as my energy level is very low, sorry....I hope to be back to my old self soon.

What Next!

Well, the first hour of our morning didn't go well. I was getting dressed and trying to get the kids ready to go to the YMCA. At 7:30am Adison fell and ended up slashing her back wide open in the bathroom of all places. I laid her on our bed and ran to get a wash cloth and her blanket....I ended up tripping and falling head first down 20 stairs. I got my wits about me, 15-20 minutes and took Adison to the hospital. She got 3 stitches with two additional butterfly strips. I got dizzy half way through her stitches when I had to lay on the hospital floor. (What a sight we were....The doctor didn't know what to say.) Ashton sat in the room the whole time covering her ears so she didn't have to listen to Adison scream, and Aiden didn't say a word...just ate his crackers, you could tell he was scared! They made us stay a little longer until I got my head back, we then headed home and went right to the couch. Adison is doing well, sleeping right now. I am sore all over, I have rug burns that cover my right arm and left leg and my knee really bites when I walk, otherwise I seem to be fine. I doubt I will be posting anything today, sorry. On a lighter note...my mom and dad will be back to ND tomorrow!!! At least I have a little something to smile about! Another day in the life at the Sagaser house.........

More Turtle Love

I made three more "Turtle" cards yesterday afternoon to add to my "Turtle Love" Card Packet for Nancy. I had so much going on I thought I could get them posted after I got the kids to bed. Well, one thing lead to another and I ended up working on our landscaping until dark. I'm proud to say I have 10 more shrubs in and 6 perennials planted on the one side of the house. Now this weekend we will rip the edging out on the other side (in the front) and finish planting more shrubs....then on to my perennial beds, which are full of river rock! Did I tell you before how much I hate rock! Once we get that done...maybe just maybe I'll get my pond in before summer hits!!! Anyway, enough about my yard drama....Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Turtle Love

Things have been so crazy here, I almost forgot to tell you on Tuesday I had a few minutes to stop by our new scrapbook & stamping store that opened a mile or so from our house, called Scrap Haven. Coming from a town that just got a Hobby Lobby a few years ago, we are lacking for stores like this. My oldest daughter and I had a fun time browsing through all the neat and cool stuff.....I came across this cute turtle stamp and saying, that I just had to have. I thought I would make a fun pack of cards for my mom's friend, Nancy who is staying with her in the hospital right now. (Nancy is like my second Mother, she is such a sweet, sweet lady....a dear friend.) I thought she would enjoy some "Turtle Love," hope you do too.....

Your Wish is My Command

You asked for it and here it is; a quick tutorial on the card packet I made earlier this week. I was almost too depressed to get it done tonight, thought about sitting on the couch and watching a movie instead~ to unwind! I had a really heart breaking day as my youngest daughter once again cut her hair, this time it is about a half inch from her scalp...the whole front and top. It wouldn't be so bad, but a few weeks ago, she cut the whole left side off... now she is sporting a new mullet hair do! She has her four year old pictures in less then a month and is a flower girl in a wedding!!! I thought my husband was going to cry when he came home! What a sight! If she was looking for a reaction she got one! I keep telling myself this is just a phase, this is just a phase.......

Card Packet Tutorial

Take a 8.5 x 11" paper and score at 6" the long way. (I used a blue pen to highlight where my score line is.)

Then score in the opposite direction (short side of the paper) at 5.5" (I highlighted the score line in blue again...I had a hard time following a straight line tonight, sorry)

Fold on the score lines to make your packet close.

Unfold your packet and cut a narrow triangle out of the middle where the two score lines meet.

Then you add your hole to tread your ribbon through.

Add your ribbon to both sides and tie shut. This is as simple as it gets...Enjoy!

Successful Day

This evening I was excited to hear news that my mom made it through surgery okay, they did find some surprises....small bone fragments which were not on the MRI, that very well could have left her with no mobility from the neck down. Plus the fact that her neck had collapsed and three bulging disks, making this surgery very complicated. I am so glad she was in great hands, thank you Dr. Veimeister. She just got out of recovery a few minutes ago and is heading to her room, she has bi passed ICU....What a blessing! I just pray tomorrow goes as well!

Tomorrow Ashton has her first school field trip to the Dakota Zoo, which she totally excited about. She said the kids were all looking forward to me coming. (I know this is a phase and will end soon, I am going to enjoy every moment while they like me being around) I have helped with every class party and special event, bringing some fun treat or craft.....So, I had to keep up my persona, I made up corn bags for them to feed the animals. I even got my husband involved in filling the bags for me, as I am so tired tonight (from stress) and knew filling cello bags would take time.....plus I was trying to watch the Bachelor at the same time?! Always something!

P.S. I know I promised to add instructions for the card packet I made earlier today, but time got away from me tonight and it didn't happen. I hope to get it done tomorrow! (Sorry)

Why Mother's Day Isn't Always A Happy Day!!

For the Last 7 years Mother's Day has been a special day for me....I get to enjoy special time with our three little miracles, doing something extra fun. The previous four years were not so joyous, as one doctor after another told me my dreams of becoming a mother were slim to none because of my sever endometriosis. I knew in my heart if we found a doctor who would believe in me, we could do this. (Thanks Dr. Corfman) From the research I had done, I knew that I had age on my side and with God I felt anything was possible. On that fourth year I was beginning to give up hope, we were slowly running out of funds to support my $1500 a month prescriptions, not counting the medical bills that were starting to pile up. I can't begin to tell you the resentment and anger that built up in that four years, watching people around me have one baby after another, some unplanned. The insensitive comments and advice that cut me to my core. A friend of mine during that time had an abortion, which was probably the lowest point in my life. (I have yet to read back through my journal, as I know it is probably very dark and a person that I would hardly recognize today). During our struggle we came across so many people going through the same things, I've made some wonderful friends....some who have like us won the battle with infertility and other's who have chosen adoption, which I must add have all been very successful. So, yes Mother's Day today is a Happy Day for me. (The day is also more than that). We can't forget about our own mother's......remember to tell your mom how much she means to you this Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day!!!

*These flowers look a little sad as we dipped below freezing last night and surprised most of the businesses....we woke to snow yesterday. When you shop last minute...this is what you get!! I planted them and put them under my grow lights, this weather better turn around or my garden will have to be indoors instead of out. I'm starting to get blooms on some of my veggies????

Just One of Those Days

Today is the second day in a row that it has been wet and rainy here. We need the moisture, but I need some sun. I have the blaas today and need a huge pick me up!!!

Top five reason's I should smile:
  1. Yesterday our two sweet, adorable girls tripped the emergency door at Subway sending an alarm through the restaurant. Yesterday not so funny, but looking back today you have to laugh....kids will be kids! This is how they learn and grow, I know they will never do that again!!! The look on their faces, was priceless, I should have had a camera!
  2. Sharon from NC who won my Stampin' Up "Share the Love Give Away" last week, got her stuff in the mail and was very excited, sent a very sweet e-mail, thanks! She is a Kindergarten teacher, which is perfect since this week is teacher appreciation week. Congratulations again, Sharon! (I will be doing another give away soon, so keep checking back)
  3. This weekend is Mother's Day....isn't that the day Mother's can do whatever they wish???
  4. My Mom is safely on her way to California, left at 5am...She meets with the doctor today and we should know more by this afternoon. (Surgery on schedule for Monday the 12th)
  5. Last but not least....My husband. Who is the rock of our home, who puts up with me and our children on the craziest of days.....the man who built a huge, beautiful sandbox so the kids can throw sand each other, priceless. (It did keep them quiet for about 15 minutes this morning, before I heard screams from the backyard-this is like walking down memory lane....my brother and I did the same thing! I still probably have sand etched in my scalp!)

Hope your having a wonderful Friday.....Lots of Smiles, Sunday is Mother's Day!

The Perfect Gift for the Perfect Girl

Tonight is a special night for us as my husband's godchild (& niece), Abbey Grace gets confirmed. We decided on getting her something that shows just how special she is. Since moving to Bismarck we have been blessed to know Abbey better, she is a true gift from God. I haven't met too many kids in their teens that have a good head on their shoulders like she does, she will go far!!! Anyway, last night my oldest daughter and I went on the hunt for the perfect gift, we found a 2ct. Garnet Cross Pendant, which is her birthstone.....I hope she likes it. This afternoon I got busy making a box for the pendant. I used the 2*5*7*10 box pattern off splitcoast and with scraps left over I made a matching 3x3 card. Enjoy....Happy Stamping!

Happy Cinco De Mayo Everyone

Monday's are always crazy at my house.....today was no exception. I am completely exhausted and have nothing left. I made this card in honor of Cinco De Mayo and I have to confess my whole heart wasn't into it, the watercoloring looks really good in person....but not in this photo! This isn't a holiday I usually celebrate, but thought it would be a good excuse to drag out a stamp set I haven't used in a long time (South of the Border). I believe the last time I used it was two years ago for Fiesta (Vacation Bible School). I hand stamped 15o thank you's!!!

Teacher Appreciation Week

I can't believe Teacher Appreciation Week snuck up on me. I looked at my calendar before heading to bed....ended up heading back down stairs to my craft room to whip out a notebook, card and matching pen. I was totally inspired by a card I saw on Splitcoast by "immaggiemae", Thank You! I haven't used my Le Jardin much, dug it out today and so glad I did.

Hope teachers everywhere have a great week.....Happy Stamping and Good Night!
