Gift Card Holder

I saw this Coffee Cup somewhere and knew I had to make one myself.  Great "Secret Santa" gift!  I made my own template and I have to admit it turned out pretty cute!  I kept it simple and just attached the Starbucks giftcard with the Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.  The pretty Snowflake Punch can be found on Stampin' Up Clearance Rack right now, found here.  Enjoy~

First Day of School Gifts

I feel it's important to tell our teachers how thankful we are for what they do....something we have always done at our house is "first day of school is teacher gifts". Each year I try to come up with something I haven't done before, it is usually something I have seen somewhere or got inspiration from. This year the twins are giving their Kindergarten teachers the Pencil Holder. Ashton's going to give her teacher the Crayola Crayon Candy Holder and each child is taking a candy pencil made up of Sweet Tarts, Rollo and a Hershey's kiss. Sure to be a hit!

Back to School

Hard to believe we are a little over a week away from school starting. I have been busy getting all three of my kids ready...having a hard time with the idea of my babies heading off to Kindergarten. :( We have been purchasing all the "fun" school supplies, which got me in the mood to try one of those cool Backpack Boxes found here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/backpackbox/....here's my twist with the new Celebrations Designer Paper. Enjoy!

Teacher Gifts

Finished up some fun teacher gifts that I wanted to share with you. I love giving teachers a little something on the last day, to so show how much I appreciate all they do! I found an awesome quick last minute gift idea for teachers "Flower Picks" on a cool web site Skip to My Lou. Here is the link to the site http://www.skiptomylou.org/?s=teacher&x=22&y=25 where you can download & print off your own flower picks, punch them out with an SU Scallop Punch and simply add them to your own flower pot as I did. Gotta love quick. Then my second project, which was also pretty quick I filled a cute jar with smarties...added some SU Ribbon and everyone would be proud of me, I used My Digital Studio to design the labels. YAY! I cut out the apple on the top of the jar with my cricut using my Doodlecharms cartridge. Like I said quick simple teacher gifts. Enjoy!

Apple of My Eye

Teachers have a big job and I love showing them just how special they are! So, today I started working on my first day of school "teacher" gifts. I made some quick note cards with my cricut today, using Doodlecharms & Base Camp Cartridges. I even embossed the leaf with my cuttlebug using a swirl emboss folder. For an added touch I sponged around the apple to show off a little more dimension, hard to see in photo. I plan on putting these in an small apple basket with some school supplies and maybe some fresh apples. It is hard to believe school starts next week....I don't think I'm ready!

Your #1 Fan

Today I made Ashton's teacher, Mrs. Woodbury a trophy...I wanted to come up with something extra special for her, tomorrow is her first day back after running the Boston Marathon. I highly respect anyone that can run 26.5 miles....I run and cycle every day and know I couldn't do that. So, hat's off to Mrs. Woodbury!!!

To create the trophy I cut two squares of blue cardstock (4 ½ inch squares) and scored each side one inch from the edge. Then I cut one score mark on each corner to create the little blue bases for my transparency sheet. The transparency sheet was 8 x 11 and I folded the 11 inch side every 2 ½ inches leaving a 1 inch flap to create a tube. The transparency tube was attached to the bottom base with sticky strip. I then filled the tube with Hershey Kisses and before attaching the top base to the candy tube, I cut a small slit in the top and fed a strip of blue cardstock through the top for attaching the "running girl". Added some gold ribbon and a tag that says " You've outdone yourself again." (From SAB 2009 Stamp Set Congrats) This trophy was quick and easy and I am thinking about making more for Party Favor's for Aiden and Adison's "Sports Theme" Birday Party in June. (Maybe just make them a little shorter so, it doesn't take as much candy to fill...use a 4 x 11 sheet)

Trophy

Project Details: All in the Family & (2009 SAB) Congrats Stamp Set, SU Circle, Scallop and Small Oval Punch, Ribbon, Transparency Paper (Occasions Mini), Glue Dots, Water Color Crayons, Blender Pen and Sticky Strip...last but not least 2 Bags Hershey's Kisses.

Growing Up

Hard to believe our kids can grow up in an instant. I remember when each of my children were born, people would repeatedly say "enjoy every moment because it goes by in a instant"....so true!! I don't know where the time has gone, seems like yesterday the twins were born. They are now 4 and heading off to preschool in a week, Ashton starts first grade tomorrow. I don't know what I am going to do without Ashton by my side all day, I'm sure it will take the twins time to adjust also. They follow her around and bug her most of the day!! I am sad to see them growing up so fast, but excited for them entering this new stage of independence and learning. Tomorrow I'm sure there will many photos taken, in hopes to freeze time as I know it. Later to preserve those memories in my scrapbooks, so someday we can look back on how fast they really did grow up.

Stawberry Basket

I'm back! I squeezed in a couple hours tonight to clean up my craft room and work on a gift for Ashton's 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Woodbury. Ashton's first day of school will be on Thursday, wish me luck getting everyone up in the morning!!! (Our practice run) I finally got around to making those cute strawberries I've been seeing everywhere. (I filled mine with a Hershey Kiss) I have added a link to the pattern, check it out....they are fun and addicting! I also plan on making a matching 3x3 card set to go along with the strawberry basket tomorrow if I have time. I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel....

Great End To a Busy Week

Sorry this week I haven't posted much, it has been crazy here! After our incidents on Monday, my parents coming home, Ashton's play last night and today's school field trip to the Amusement Park...I'm exhausted. Tonight I made a simple gift for Ashton's teacher, Mrs. Lacher....who I think is the most amazing teacher! Ashton painted the pot, I cheated and bought stickers from Hobby Lobby, since I don't have any school type stamps. The ribbon and plant I purchased from Wal-mart and I just printed the thank you saying off the computer. This is a very simple project and it got my daughter involved, which was an added bonus. Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend....we are suppose to get rain, if we do I'll be stamping!!!

A little something for Mrs. Lacher on the last day of school.

Teacher Appreciation Week

I can't believe Teacher Appreciation Week snuck up on me. I looked at my calendar before heading to bed....ended up heading back down stairs to my craft room to whip out a notebook, card and matching pen. I was totally inspired by a card I saw on Splitcoast by "immaggiemae", Thank You! I haven't used my Le Jardin much, dug it out today and so glad I did.

Hope teachers everywhere have a great week.....Happy Stamping and Good Night!
